One of the first stories i heard as a child is about the story of the Ugly Duckling. It's a simple tale about a little bird who is bullied for her looks. It turns out that this ugly duckling is actually a swan who grew up as the most beautiful bird in the barn. This original tale was written by Hans Christian Andersen in Denmark and has now been transformed into animated feature films, opera and musical plays. As a kid this story taught me never to judge a person especially on their looks. No matter what a persons outside looks like, the most important thing is the beauty in the inside. The way the other creatures judge or bully the strange-looking duckling makes them uglier beings. Picking on others does not make you a better person, and worse it puts others down. We should learn to love others no matter what their form is. We should treat others nicely so that in return they we will be treated nice too. Watch Disney's Ugly Duckling
