One Love, One Heart, One Destiny

After completing our mural, we have to wait five more days for the results of the competition. We were asked to write an interpretation of our mural which will be passed during the day of judgement. But to our surprise, there were no judges on the location and the written interpretation will not be considered in the judging anymore.

I was not there since I have an event that day. My team waited for an additional hour after the call time. Filipino time! tsk! When the head organizer came, she already had the results in hand. Another surprise! After a few walk around the location and some writing, she announced the results. Unfortunately, we didn't win. : (

Mural Painting Experience

For years I stuck with my pen and planner doing doodles and random drawings. I learned how to paint during the Summer Arts Workshop of the Gallery of the Peninsula and Archipelago under the master painter himself, Mr Rameer Tawasil. I produced 3 paintings during that class and I haven't practice my painting skill afterwards.

I'm glad to have this opportunity to join a Mural Painting competition organized by the Rotary Club of Zamboanga City so i can paint again and have it in a public place where people can see my work. My goal was not to win but to create something that is not typical poster-looking mural and produce use a style that has not been used in contests like this.

Day 6: Favorite Book Character

I'm not a fan of books or novels. I find it boring reading lengthy text in black and white. In high school, book reports are my least favorite assignments because I end up sleeping after reading the first few chapters. So in this day of the 30 Day Drawing Challenge, I have to draw my favorite book character.

The first thing i had in my mind is Harry Potter or Robert Langdon of "Angels and Demons". But the challenge says "must not be a movie" so I have to think of another character. There are few fictional books that I have read in my entire life and most of them I read in high

Day 5: Best Friend

Do you have a best friend? We have different interpretations of a best friend. Some has a best friend since childhood and share the same school, passion, likes and even work. Other consider a member of their family a best friend, may it be his/her mother, father, brother, sister, cousin or even a pet. More religious ones say God is their best friend.

I was thinking really hard on what to draw this time. I considered everyone that i mentioned from above. I have a long-time classmate who we consider each other a best friend. She is
Farhana, my quirky funny girl friend

Day 4: Favorite Place

Sunsets are just the most amazing sight in the world. I just love the moment when the skies change colors every single minute til it becomes dark. I imagine the sight as God's painting and one just can't stop appreciating the vivid warm colors turning to blues. The clouds look like brush strokes and the sea glitters like gold and diamonds. I love the breeze of the sea and the sound of the waves crashing to the shores. Sunsets are the best!

Day 3: Favorite Food

I have a sweet tooth. During parties i look forward for the desserts. My favorites are leche flan, brownies, brazo de mercedes, ice cream and chocolate cakes. My favorite so far is the Drunken Chocolate Cake of Tsokolate, a local restaurant/cafe here in Zamboanga. This particular cake actually has a little bit of alcohol in it :D.
